Courses Series Currently Available
Misty River Consulting has several course series that can assist
organizations improve their organizational performance. However, be cautioned - these courses are
effective when they are used as one part or step of a larger strategic
behavioral change effort. These series of courses include:
Continuous Improvement
The Continuous Improvement of Organizational Performance course series is designed to accompany a change initiative in which a continuous improvement strategy is being implemented with the organization. Courses are designed to develop the competency of executives/managers, project managers, facilitators, and team members to drive out the costs of waste and/or improve the generation of revenue. The Continuous Improvement Strategy, whether it show up as Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Theory of Contraints, etc., will be explored and issues relating to its effective integration will be discussed and planned for.
Facilitator Skill Development
The “Facilitator Skill Development" course series of courses is designed to equip the student with the knowledge, skill, and confidence to lead small groups toward a specific objective using a specific “task accomplishment process”. This course typically equips facilitator students with a decision matrix that allows facilitators to select and use the appropriate methodology with a group given what the group's objective is. Facilitators are also enabled to train individuals about the chosen methodology and components of that methodology. For example, if the team is given an objective to eliminate the occurrence of a process problem of some specific type, the facilitator will be able to select that appropriate problem solving process and teach group members about the method and the components of that method (ie: process flow diagrams, cause and effect diagrams, etc.) Basic computer skill development in MS Word and Excel can also be incorporated into this series if desired.
Statistical Methods
The “Statistical Methods" series of courses designed to equip the student with the knowledge, skill, and confidence to assist and be a resource for improvement teams on a variety of statistical topics. In addition, they will also be able to assist facilitators train individuals in statistical methods needed by the team activity. Basic computer skill development in MS Word and Excel can also be incorporated into this course if desired.
Supervisory Leadership
With the technological, demographic, and strategic changes that organizations have experienced, supervisory effectiveness comes from the ability to lead and teach individuals to work successfully and collaborate effectively with others in the processes they work within. In this series of courses, supervisors learn the basics of facilitating these individuals and/or teams successfully and gain experience from classroom practice of real world situations. Supervisory's will learn to lead the organization, the teams within the organization, individuals within the organization, and will learn to lead themselves as well.
