Project Management Services

Occasionally organizations have problems and/or opportunities that require short-term project teams to be created and managed.  In addition, when these times arise, sometimes management resources to manage the team are not available.  In these circumstances, MRC can assist you.

Why There is a Need for Project Management

Development projects often have a history of grand beginnings, followed by extended delivery schedules and ending with products that do not meet customer expectations.  Generally, this is because of lack of planning and inadequate tracking.  The complexity and variety of tasks involved in any project, when coupled with a lack of measurable objectives, make it very difficult for a manager to control the job and discharge the associated responsibilities.  Failure to meet schedules and cost is directly related to the inability of managers to properly plan, execute, and track a project.

Overview of Project Management

Project management consists of principles, methods, tools, techniques, and experience.  These are applied to a project in terms of cost, schedule, alternative plans, and technical content.  Analysis of progress, performance, schedules, and risk will ensure success.  To do these tasks, a project manager assembles and leads a team with the expertise necessary to execute the project.  The project manager then implements the activities needed to plan the project and manage the undertaking so that a quality product is achieved within schedule, budget, and resource limitations.

Project Manager

In order for this project to succeed, a project manager is appointed who manages the project using a variety of managerial, financial, planning, organizational, and people skills.  Overall though, he or she is creating clarity and consensus about the project’s objective, its cost, its benefits, and about the plan or process that is being used to accomplish the project.  They concentrate on the definition of the project objective, determining the project work and corresponding organizational structure, problem solving and implementation processes and structures, and the correct level of information for each part of the project structure.

When a project manager function is needed for the short term, MRC is available to assist in the successful completion of that project.
