MRC's Beliefs and Values

About Our Clients

We believe that most people want to do the right things, want to contribute, want to do quality work, want to make a difference, and will if the system enables them to do so.

We believe our business exists to benefit our customers and students and, through that commitment to them, the ownership of Misty River Consulting will benefit.

We believe that the clients that we partner with truly desire real, measurable, and significant change otherwise we would not go into relationship with them.

About Our Engagements With Clients
We believe that our role is to assist clients learn about their situation, to assist clients learn about alternatives for change, and to assist our clients as they lead that change endeavor.

We believe that it is in the client’s best interest to remain responsible for strategic or tactical analysis, decision-making, planning and/or the plan's implementation.  Our role, as a consultancy, is to teach, facilitate, and influence the client in a manner that helps them be successful in these endeavors.

We will help our clients develop the self sufficiency to perform the needed improvement tasks themselves.

About Our Fees
We will believe that it is inappropriate, unethical, and essentially wrong to enter a contractual agreement with the client without the client understanding the total cost implications of that arrangement.

We believe that our fees will reflect and be respectful of the responsibility, trust, and strategic significance of the engagement we are involved in with our client.

We do not support nor believe that the traditional bait and hook strategy some firms use to sustain their revenue stream is appropriate or ethical.

About the Consulting Profession
We believe that it is our responsibility to assume responsibility for our competence, our caring, and our firm’s intentions especially since no national or international certification process is mandatory.

We believe that it is the consultancy’s responsibility to develop client self-sufficiency, not dependence.

We believe that it is of the utmost importance for our clients to question our opinions, proposals, methods, etc. and that it is our responsibility to facilitate this inquiry.

We believe that quiet, simple, straightforward, and "non-glitzy" initiatives are the most effective means to assist organization's move toward their performance objectives.
